2016 Leadership Summit: Tucson, AZ

January 14-17th, 2016

The Higher Purpose Summit is an experiential platform, focused on creating unique environments in the outdoors that connect and expand leaders from different fields. Over the course of 4 days, attendees will have an opportunity to experience the very best of the Southwest; participating in outdoor challenges, interactive talks, small group activities, and intimate dining experiences with the strongest members of our community.

Don Hahn

Don Hahn is an American film producer that has produced some of the most successful Walt Disney animated films of the past 20 years, including Beauty & The Beast & The Lion King. A man of many talents, Hahn has had success as an author, director, artist, and storyteller in a multitude of different mediums.

Hahn has served as a producer on notable films that include; Who Framed Roger Rabbit, The Nightmare Before Christmas, Malificent, Frankenweenie, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Emperor’s New Groove, and Atlantis: The Lost Empire. In addition to animation, he also served as the Executive Producer of the Disneynature films including “Earth” and “Oceans”.

Erik Stolhanske

Erik is an actor, writer and producer best known for his role as “Rabbit” in the hit comedy Super Troopers. Born without a fibula, he overcame his disability to become one of Hollywood’s most popular comedians.

A graduate of Colgate University, Erik took an untraditional route in Hollywood by writing, producing, and starring in independent films alongside classmates that would later form the production company, Broken Lizard. In addition to Super Troopers, Erik has also appeared in Club Dread, BeerFest,  The Onion Movie, The Sweetest Thing, and Watching The Detectives. On television, Erik has guest starred on the HBO critically acclaimed series Curb Your Enthusiasm, Six Feet Under, and the Comedy Central special, Broken Lizard Stands Up. In 2015, Erik and his team successfully raised over $4.5 million in just 30 days for the sequel to Super Troopers. Their highly publicized crowdfunding campaign set the second highest mark for funds raised for a feature film.

JOHN BRAMBLITT

John is an award winning artist that began painting after losing his sight in 2001 following a series of severe seizures. Despite the loss of vision, John learned to distinguish between different colored paints by feeling their textures with his fingers and using raised lines to help him find his way around the canvas. His technique called haptic visualization, enables him to “see” his subjects through touch.

John’s art has been displayed in more than thirty countries, and he has been the subject of numerous media stories including a documentary that won several film awards and a video that was voted Most Inspirational Video of 2008 (Youtube). He was awarded three U.S. presidential awards in 2005, 2006, and 2007 for his creation of a series of free art workshops designed to bring art to people and neighborhoods which lack access to art instruction.

Peter Stark

Peter Stark, an award winning author, travel writer, and long-time correspondent for Outside magazine. In addition, his articles have appeared in SmithsonianThe New Yorker, the New York Times MagazineMen’s Journal and many other publications. His books include Driving to Greenland (essays about the Arctic, 1994); Last Breath: Cautionary Tales from the Limits of Human Endurance(Ballantine Books, 2001); At the Mercy of the River: An Exploration of the Last African Wilderness (Ballantine, 2005); and The Last Empty Places: A Past and Present Journey Through the Blank Spots on the American Map (Ballantine, 2010).

His most recent best selling book, Astoria, details the thrilling, true tale of the 1810 Astor Expedition, an epic, now forgotten, three-year journey to forge an American empire in the West.

***Scholarships and financial assistance are available based upon need. A portion of proceeds will be donated to The Western National Parks Association headquartered in Southern Arizona.
